Blog #2 - Prodigy & engaging students in math
Mini-lesson self-reflection:
We taught a lesson on ordering and comparing fractions. Overall, I think the lesson went well, though we could have planned more time for the fraction explanation. The biggest challenge we faced was the unreliable Wi-Fi, which affected students’ ability to access Prodigy.
The feedback we received was generally positive, with some helpful suggestions for improvement. Many participants appreciated being introduced to Prodigy and expressed interest in using it in their own future classrooms. One of the best features of this application is that students can work on it independently, both at school and at home.
In the future, when using Prodigy, I would assign multiple tasks over a longer period of time to ensure students have enough content to work through and remain engaged in fun math activities.

Love the bitmoji. I appreciate you including the feedback you received to provide context for your lesson.
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun teaching this with you! I love that you considered the feedback, I think it's a super fun lesson and there will be lots of engagement with the kids while participating in this activity.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great idea with using prodigy for multiple interconnected lessons! Plus you're getting real-world experience in with the unreliable wifi!
